Just what is the difference?

Anniversary Edition cars carry RPO 1SC.
IE: My 2003 is an anniversary year car but not an Anniversary Edition. (mine is a 1SB car)
You can see the 50th Anniversary emblem on the nose but it is not a 1SC car.

Hope this helps.

RPO code 1SC is for the Special Edition Anniversary model. All 2003's are 50th anniversary, but not all are special edition.

Everything is a matter of perspective and what you want.
Personally, I like all of the C5 years but would prefer a later year rather than an earlier year based on my budget. When it comes to the 03 year, if you love the color, then the anniversary EDITION is what you will pay more for. Otherwise it is a matter of the car having in it what you want. IMO good color (they all are to me), good condition, low miles and good maintenance = higher price. While the EDITION was a $5k option, I personally would not pay a significant amount more just based on that.

When I was looking for my 3RD Corvette, I was considering getting another C4 convertible ten years later. Although they made about
1/2 million C4s, the only cars that demanded a premium in price were
the 93 40TH AE, the Gran Sports, ZR1s and maybe the 95 AE.
Although these models were not rare #s wise, they were popular when new and remained popular ten years later. Everything else was considered a used car.
For the C5s, the only models that seem to command a premium in price are the pace cars and the 03 50TH AE, everything else is considered a used car. Maybe the 04 CE might be considered with the 50th AE in ten
years. If you like the 50TH AE, get it but don't overpay today ...
it's not a classic, yet.

But the Aniversary "Edition" is additional; it is an option package Not all of the 2003 Corvettes had this option. I also believe part of this AE option package was the magnetic ride suspension ?????
I know that Yvonnes 50th Aniversary Edition has the magnetic ride system. All the 2003's with the AE option package were all the same interior/exterior color.
I was (and am still) disappointed in what Dave Hill gave us for Corvettes 50th birthday; he ceretainly let the ball drop at this important milestone. But I do find the 2003 AE is the sexiest of all C5's created; and that's why my wife has one with just 9k miles
