I believe that they are fine. In fact, a friend of mine who owns a Corvette Restoration company (sponsoring vendor here), told me when I was ready to do my brakes, that he would order the OME GM drilled and slotted rotors for me. He said they are good rotors and that I would not have any problems. He sells the more expensive, but for normal everyday driving, around town and the interstate, they are fine.

Yes, I am sure you can. He will need to order them, but they are available at many vendors. Corvette Garage has them on sale for $399.00. I am not sure you will find them at a much better price. That vendor I was referring to is Vansteel.

Also they are NOT zinc plated. So paint the holes and slots and top hats with high heat rustoleum or they will rust bad.

I really recommend zinc plated drilled and slotted for street use. After all, you are gong for the BLING factor, and rusty rotors and wheels are not bling.

I just ordered some, and according to the add, they will come zinc coated and with black painted hats.

Had them on my Vette for a while till I could get the GM C6 Z51 Front and raer Rotors and Brackets - they worked great and look good too!

just make sure you use something to treat the slots and holes to keep from rusting (Hi-Temp Clear works good)!

Thanks,Matt

I chose to upgrade because the stock rotors kept loading up with pad material and were constantly warping. Chevy replaced them countless times under warranty but the problem always returned. I was careful too. I always bed the new rotors properly and never stood on the brake at lights with hot rotors, etc.. If you can imagine, I now hate Chevy rotors.

I went with the Baer drilled and slotted rotors with aluminum hats. The aluminum hats are lighter, reduce heat soaking into the hub, bearings and rims and they don't discolor or rust. I am fairly hard on the brakes but don't race the car. I doubt they have ever glowed red, no cracks yet luckly. They are amazing compared to stock and have never warped or had any pad buildup of any kind. A super easy upgrade too.

I recommend HAWK HPS pads, they dust little and stop like ZO6 pads.
