What was with Clappy McStupid there parking his car to applaud? From the video, my take is that the Vette and Viper were having some fun on the straight and went in hot to get by Clappy. The Vette out-braked (possibly over-braked for the corner, I'm thinking) and the Viper just didn't anticipate and had to brake hard to keep off the back end of the Vette, and likely without ABS. The reader comments were pretty stupid; he wasn't trying to pass on the inside, it's pretty clear that he was trying not to wreck both cars. But the **** whose video that was needs to be taken out back and slapped around for slowing right up *after* the incident to the point that another car had to go around him, he could have just as easily caused more carnage by rubbernecking like that.
I don't care what car you drive, or what car you don't like, clapping because someone just spun is. Stopping to laugh, cheer, and clap means you're a moron, an unsafe driver, and need to be kicked off the track.
Defiantly give the driver in the red c5 credit. He was defiantly out driving the MTI car in the corners. the MTI car when clear on the straits was just fast, but that was expected.
Nice driving and working traffic for both drivers (OP's vid). I liked your line through the uphill esses better than his; he was apexing too late on the last right hander and seemed to slow him down slightly on corner exit. Your earlier apex let you track out over the rumble strips and a better corner exit speed.
Other than that it seemed pretty even throughout the track, and the semi-constant traffic allowed you to stay with him, even though he had better power, aero, and probably tires as well.
