I renewed both magazines for two years each in December 2008. Evidently both are published by the same publisher. I recently noticed that I hadn't received either in a while. I checked on line and was informed that they both were cancelled in May 2009, with no refund due. I called and spoke to a live body who said that both subscriptions were cancelled in May but evidently not by me. They didn't refund the balance because I hadn't requested a refund, so they just kept 16 months worth of subscription fees. When I asked them how could I have asked for a refund when by their own admission, I hadn't cancelled in the first place, they had no answer. Evidently, it takes 4 months to stop receiving the magazines after cancellation, which is why their records show cancellation in May, and the last issue was sent in August. After 45 minutes on the phone, they initially agreed to refund the balance in 4 to 6 weeks by mail. I said I wasn't about to wait that long. Then they said they would refund the balance immediately on my credit card, which to date I have not received. When I asked about starting up the subscriptions, they offered to do so at a much higher rate. If I had to guess, I would say that they decided their original offer was too good and chose not honor it after sending both magazines for 8 months. I think it was pretty sleazy not to honor the original agreement after 8 months of delivery and then not to refund the difference voluntarily. As far as I am concerned, after regularly subscribing to both for years, I have no interest in receiving any of their publications any longer.
I subscribe to these two mags and find that the way you were treated was rather sleazy !! Welcome to the new millineum, even though this kind
of nonsense is prevalent in our society and has been for some time.
I hate when they ask for payment immediately but when it comes to refunds, Oh that will be 4-6 weeks. I was getting both, stopped for awhile and now just get Vette mag. But truthfully, this forum by far surpasses anything you could get out of either magazine. Do you realize how many magazines you would need to go through to find an article about a certain project? I have found that using the history on this forum is fantastic and the people who help out are very thorough with their step by step instructions and pictures. You will not find that in those magazines.
Pretty close to the same thing happened to me with VETTE magazine -
I subscribed for two years and I got a couple of months and I did not recieve another mag, I called and asked what is up and they said someone called and CANCELLED the subscription
I said no, negative and had the send the copies missed and add an extra month on! - I have not missed an issue yet!

I have found that subscribing to almost any magazine these days can be frustrating to say the least. Yes, most are sleaze ***** that just want your up front money. After that you're on your own and hope they follow through with the subscription. I have found that Corvette Magazine to be an excellent mag and have never missed an issue. Another thing I found with most magazines is they want next years subscription money like six months before the current subscription runs out. Whats up with that?
The only problem with the forum is that I can't take my desktop into the bathroom. That's where I do all my reading. Vette and Corvette Fever are the only 2 magazines I subscribe to and I hate to hear about poor business practices. My dad subscribes to 2 other mags and we swap issues after a month.

Used to subscribe to both of those magazines too. Seemed like they ran the same stuff in each magazine so I went with Corvette Magazine. Have not regretted that decision as it, IMO, is a much higher quality magazine.

Used to get Corvette Fever,,usually renewed at Fun Fest and got a free T-shirt for the same price it cost to renew by mail with no extras!!The rain storm hit,,by the time I got back there they were closed up. Didn't bother renewing. The magazines seemed to be getting smaller,,less content,,and all their projects seemed to be advertisements for Mid-America Motorworks!! I get Car and Driver,Motor Trend,,Chevy High Performance and Car Craft. They are all much thicker,,more content,,and ALL of them,,if you wait and watch,,are much less expensive that Corvette Fever. Fever doesn't give a discount for multi-year subscriptions,,about $25 a year. ALL the others,,I can get two years for LESS than 1 year of Fever. I don't really miss them!!! I'm a little more of a hot rodder than a pure Corvette guy I guess. I would love to get it out on a road course though!!!
Huh........come to think of it I haven't gotten an issue of either magazine in a while, and I had done a 1 year subscription in January of last year. May be in for a phone call.......
