Default Wheel and tire question

Happy New year everyone!

I have been pondering new wheels/tires for someime, and think I have finally found a suitable solution, but need some help from you experts.

I am currently running z06 wheels on my frc with 315/30/18 out back and 275/40/17 up front. The car handles great, and I LOVE the look of the big rubber out back. They don't bulge or look ridiculous.

So here is what I am thinking - 18's all around, keep my 315's which are in great shape, and get new front tires.

My question is simple - what size front tire can I run on an 18" rim, and what width rim is appropriate.

Yes, I will also be lowering my car shortly also.

Thanks for any help.

With your intent on keeping that size rear (which is a pretty short tire in height), For the front, I'd suggest an 18x10" wheel and 285/30/18 tire to best match the 315/30 rear.

Thanks.

If I went with 17" front, what size would you recommend?

Although I normally wouldn't recommend them, if your current 275/40/17 fronts are working for you, then I'd stick with them.
On paper, they are slightly taller than your rear tires, and this "should" cause problems with false engagement of traction control during normal driving. Not a problem if you normally shut TC off before driving,

If you are looking to alleviate that exact issue, then you're gonna have to go narrower to find a 17" tire that will best match that short rear tire. 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 are about it for 17" size options that will work.

I have been running 275/35/18 on 18 X 9 1/2 on the front and 315/30/18 on 18 X 11 on the rear, over 4 years and nice combo for me
