I have a 1999 Corvette with a dual climate control and it is a pain in the @@@.I am thinking about replacing it with a manual temp control. Is this possible without a whole lot of work involved ? Thanks ! mwmincey0@yahoo.com
From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

Takes longer to get the setting that you want.
Passenger side temp is never accurate so what's the point.
Display dies after a few years.
Never stays where you left it after you turn on the car.
I have trouble with the actuator going out of sync.So I bought a brand new Dual control hoping that might solve my problem. It didn't .So I thought if I did away with the actuator and replace dual with a manual that might solve it.The C5's have a terrible problem with the actuator going out of wack.Blowing heat out the drivers side and Ac out the passenger. You would think Chevrolet would have the knowhow to fix this problem. The C6's do not have this problem only C5.

strange...
mine is working perfectly. Maybe it's defective. Try turning off the auto function, and leave it in manual mode.
Have you gone over the grounds for this circuit?
Poor connections at the inside air temp harness?
Intermittent issue with sunload sensor?
HVAC control module harness connections?
Inspect connections at the vacuum control assembly?

Pull pretty much the entire dash panel apart and replace the entire HVAC section and the control head along with the associated wiring harness changes and then replace or at least look into the need to reprogram your BCM. Other than that, pretty easy.

Mine had this problem and I'm sure all I did was unplug the battery for a while. That was 2 years ago, but I know I didn't complete the whole DIY procedure.
