These are the 10 pics of my modification to the Vettenet wind deflector, Yes it does require driling 4 holes in the sheet metal cross member behind the seats for 4 1/4" self tapping screws. And 2 1-1/2 " slits in the carpet.
It renders the current brackets obsolete and allows the Deflector to remain in the car when raising and lowering the top.
It works!

I made a home made wind deflector, but it does look home made.
Mine can stay in place with the top up though, which is a huge draw back to the vette net, and then when you add in the cost......
Nice idea.
i was fortunate to keep in contact with gil during the development (and the trials and tribulations of such, lol) of this neat deflector. it is very creative in design to say the least.
great job, gil!! the "finished" product looks great, is creative, but most of all is very functional.
