Default Fluid changes

Hey guys. I was just wondering if it's worth it to pay someone to change the coolant, trans and rear fluid in my car or is this something I could take on by myself? Any write ups on this?

Ok,so I've found differential and coolant instructions...

Certainly you can do it yourself, save a little money that way and make sure no one over/undertightens a drain or fill plug, uses too much/too little/wrong fluids, etc.. Only possible sticking point is do you have the proper ramps and/or jacking and supporting equipment? That has to be done properly, with the car level or close after raising, to do the fluids.

The basic fluids are easy!! Oil and filter easy,,manual tranny and rear end have drain plugs,,easy drain,,but you need a small( and cheap) manual fluid pump. Easy to drain,,awkward to fill,,but not hard if you have the pump. Now coolant,,if you want to do it right and drain the block as well(will have to open up and blow it out)You need an inexpensive kit to "BURP" the system of air from the block. Any traditional auto parts store(probably NOT the chain stores,,I checked and they never heard of it) but a set made by Lisle(pronounced like the guys name Lyle)called the spill free funnel (part #one-24610) Have brand specific radiator cap adapters to mount the funnel container above the motor level. When you have the radiator full,,leave about an inch of coolant and run the motor for about 15 min or so with the heat setting on high.Run till the motor till the thermostat opens(you'll know when that is) and add coolant as needed. You'll have a full system of fresh coolant. The set runs between 20-30 bucks,I got mine for $22. It comes in handy fro just about ALL newer vehicles since most have low mounted radiators that cause air lock in the upper parts of the motor. Hope this helps!!
