Default Slippery Pedals

Hi Guys.Anyone else out there find their clutch pedal very slippery? if my shoes are just a little wet its hard to keep my foot from sliding off the pedal..Think I need some after market rough/sticky pedals, the clutch pedal could even use about a 1 inch thick shim behind it,when the seat is adjusted right for the gas and brake pedals the clutch has just abit to much travel downwards..

I hated the slippery clutch pedal. These pedals took care of the problem. I got them in the pyramid grid finish.

I know what you mean, mine is pretty slippery when the bottoms of my shoes are wet. I've already changed out my other pedals though and really hate to have to re-do them all again but guess it might be something I have to think about. Too bad they don't just sell the clutch pedal separately.

Those CCA pedals look pretty good. I have the same problem though. After I was my car and my shoes are wet the pedals are very slippery. maybe ill make those pedals a 2010 mod.

so - those who have the CCA pedals, do they stay in place well? - are they less slippery even when wet? - is the spacing between the gas/brake better for heel/toe shifiting? Which finish is best ? Thanks

Yep! All the time. If I stepped in a puddle it would be slippery really bad to the point that I was nervous to drive my car. I sit at stop lights in first gear (Never in neutral) and I almost popped the clutch from my foot slipping off the clutch and I would have hit the guy in front of me... Saved it just barely with my heel on the clutch and pulled the trans out of gear just in time.

I also once stepped in some oil one night I didn't see while getting some stuff from an Autozone... It was a real PITA getting enough off my shoe and the peddle just to be able to hold the clutch down.

i bought the grid style when they were first offered as a GP and they are fantastic. slippery when wet pedals has always been a bit of a problem. these pedal "covers" are the solution for sure.

When I had my 6-speed, yes, the clutch pedal would get slick if I had wet shoes on. I just lived though it, but the CCA stuff would help a lot.

Looks like this topic is getting a lot of action these days.

Dale M:

I agree, I don't want to buy all 4 pedals. Looks like there may be a solution. Read Post #36 in the following thread. I have not called to verify, but plan on doing so soon.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...post1572721653

I started a thread last week asking if anyone knew of a rubber pad that would fit the C6 clutch. I would imagine there is something that would fit even if it is an import pad. Anyone????

Everytime I wash my car and then drive I have to take my shoes off so they dont slip.

The first summer I had my car I was at a car wash place using the vacuum and it started to pour rain on me, I jumped in the car, which right in front was a big cement wall.............It was in 1st gear when I started her up and before I could get it outa gear my foot slipped of the clutch

I had my foot on the brake luckily so I stopped an inch or two before kissing the wall.....

I need new pedals!

Deja Vu! LOL I did the same thing... You're right... Sticky peddles ftw.

I'm going to order these from CCA when I get the new Z. I'll probably get the black satin peddles though.
