Two options and a multitude of opinions.lol

While not the same thing, I have an 03 vette targa, a mustang vert and a jeep with a power moonroof. They all have a + and a - but I like them all.

IMO. With the vette, you can't go wrong either way. I was looking for a manual vert and ended up with an automatic targa. Still love the car.

Have both.. Vert is so much better... and less air movement when the top is down. No difference when both tops are up. Pius the vert just looks better

I'm a convertible guy and will always be a convertible guy, but this 03 is the first convertible that I have owned without an automatic top. I really miss that feature and that may be the only reason I will buy a C6 a year or two down the road.

My vette is a daily driver and I am enjoying it so much that I can't see myself without a corvette ever again. I agree with the other poster that if you are going to spend two or three hours on the road everyday, you might as well enjoy it.

Your Coupe would look just as good as the Vet without those big plastic spears glued to the side.

Before I get flamed for my avatar pic, those BSM were removed long ago. I just haven't updated the pic yet.

My father's got an '06 XLR. I've 'raced' him for either of us getting our car's top down, both starting sitting in the car with it off. I can get my 'manual' roof stowed faster than he can his automatic one, without having to run around the car or anything.

I call it an "extended sun roof".

If I had a coupe, I don't think I would ever bother taking the top off.

Great read this post!

Fun to hear all the experiences comparing
the coupe (with trunk space) to the convertible (with no trunk space).

Sounds like the #1 Rule is to do road trips with the coupe but just cruise around town with the convertible!

Default Targa me...

I'd say it depends on the climate you live and drive in.

Personally I like the Targa choice.
Air conditioning and shade in the hot Summer months,
Top off Spring and Fall (and mornings/evenings in Summer)
Glass top for Winter driving...

My wife is 5' 0" and has no problem dealing with the roof panel.
Being that short caused other issues for her, tho.
I installed a padded fleece flipout rear bumper cover/protector so she could lean in to stow it. It flips over the roof panel while stowed to protect it.

The vert has more trunk space with both tops down.

If you need more room then either give you then maybe you need to stop letting the old lady drive you vette!!! hahaha

I do like the looks of the coupe, but for me, a vert was the only way to go. This is not my DD and is out only in the nice weather. I just love the open feel, driving with the top down. As far as raising & lowering the top goes, if it takes you longer than 20 seconds by yourself, you must have stopped for a coffee break It is very easy.

I bought a 32 inch LCD and put it in the trunk in the orig box with top down...had room for more stuff too. If you need more room than that get a station wagon lolol

I got the vert can't see any other way for a sports car. I get two golf bags in the trunk with the top down. This was a requirement for me. When it's a nice sunny day and the road is open, nothing better than a vert.... nothing!

I wish they made the Z0-6 with a removable fiber glass roof like the older mercedes roadsters & early MGs. That would really be the best of both worlds to me !
