Default Essential accessories for a Z?

Small things; things that are a must have, and if you have a particular brand that is better than the rest? Things like cup holders, CLB, hood seal, etc. Compared to the C4 there are 100x more accessories, just wondering what is really nice and needed, VS junk.

Cabin/trunk divider. Lighter in weight the better. I made my own out of 2" thick white styrofoam, then covered w/ material
CLB column lock bypass. COH Corvettes of Houston
Skip shift Eliminator sold @ most suppliers.
Set of pucks sold @ most suppliers
Flat tire kit for Z 06(non runs)
wheel locks
Hood seal sold @ most suppliers Helps keep engine bay clean. I made my own.
Trunk popper. Pops trunk open a little higher. I made my own out of small springs on ea shock.
After market or 09 or newer stock Z 06 shifter. I like the Snap shifter (shortened angled handle 09 mode sold by RSD)
Ceramic front pads less dust. sold by most suppliers.
Theres alot more, but these are just a few.

hmmm

I was thinking

a) radar detector
b) good lawyer on retainer ( in case the radar detector fails )
c) plastic surgeon on call for removing the grin off your face after driving

seriously...
the hood seal is a great idea...
pucks are a must
I've not ever thought about the divider, as I like the sound, and such
flat tire kit ( or AAA )
skip shift

The partition, especially, makes a world of difference. It keeps exhaust noise to a reasonable level (for those that care, anyway) and lends a nice, finished look to the cabin. Getting rid of that awful looking three-foot antenna is a must, too. As for the short shifter, the MGW is quite nice and precise. As others have mentioned, the skip shift is mandatory, as well.

So even if your filter is not in the stock location, the hood seal is a good idea?

I have the C6 shifter, and I'm sure the skip shift becuase I can go 1-2.
I definatly want the divider w tray, I think the combo one from Southern is nice.
I like the shorty from Bitviper.
I have to check to see if it has the CLB but will definately do this one if not.
Mine is tinted, which I think is a must and I have a radar detector but need to get the Invisicord and mount. I have the rocker and frame savers on the way.
I can't use the CAI due to the SC.

I did a euro spec lighting upgrade in my C4 and it is great, much better than the Z, so probably will have to look into lighting upgrade at some point.

Hey I thought you C5 guys loved cup holders!? lol No one mentioned cup holders.

I guess I should do this one, especially since I have a SC. Is the Elite better than the CCA? Does this drain back in to the engine, or do you have to empty when it gets full?

Easy install on LS6?

The most visually dramatic improvement is also free: lower it. It makes the car look meaner, improves the handling when done correctly and does not ruin the ride. Next in no particular order: shorter antenna, long tube headers, shifter, cold air intake (I like the Callaway Honker), better brake pads. By now you'll be addicted like the rest of us and you'll come up with more ideas on your own.

Just remember less is more. Chrome and stickers dont make you go faster and most aftermarket exterior accessories ruin the lines of the car. Keep it clean and functional that is the key.

The can itself has one bracket that bolts to the head, with a couple lines to connect. It's about a 1/2 hour job.

The machine work on the parts are top notch! Very well made, you can tell there was some serious time and effort put into the design. I'm not sure about the CCA can, but I can't see how anything (using this type of filtration method) can be better made than Elite.

The bottom 2/3rds of the canister simply unscrews and you dump out the oil, wipe it out, and twist it back on. If you were racing to see how fast you could do it I'd say 25 seconds. It catches about 2 tablespoons on a weekend or two of aggressive mountain carving.

I've got mine polished up like chrome, it should look good when the engine is back together.

On a side note.... the hood seal is a waste of time and money. If you reach down the bumper cover where your air filter is located and touch the back of the bumper screens, you can see your hand. That means that all the outside air is blowing right into the engine bay. What is a hood seal going to do (to keep dust out) when the entire front of the engine bay is gulping air through the screens? Like I said, a hood seal is pointless.

Carbotech bobcat 1521 brake pads.

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.
