Has anyone else been enrolled in this through their local dealership?
I have one mechanic that works on my car at a local dealership. Had the tranny fluid and filter changed the other day and the service manager enrolled me in their Preferred Owner Program.
The membership gives me an immediate 25 bucks off service and 25% off parts. Also 250 bucks off any new or used car deal. These amounts can grow based on service that I have done.

Anyone use this yet.
Ordered a couple of those lousy carpet keepers as one broke and I wanted a spare. $7.11 each and with the 25% discount they are $5.36 each.

Good for all parts supposedly.

Preferred because your willing to go to the dealer for fluid changes at 3 times the price.

25% off double still means your getting hosed.

But for those that insist on using the stealership every little bit helps.

What's a dealership?

Never been to one.

Okay, a lied a tad. Haven't been to one in over 20 years. Oh, dang. Lied again. I went by a dealership to have the key chip read. They guy told me there was no way to do it. Then and there, I reaffirmed by boycott of dealerships.

Well some items I have been unable to find other than the dealer. One is the cockamamey ***** for the radio on my C5. Even more frustraing is when the dealer quits supplying elusive parts.

You know how the work.

You walk in, they bend you over and usually don't even hit you with the Vaseline (unless you pay extra)

I go to the dealer for all my work than I am unable to do myself, do not have a hoist here. The dealer may have some person that gives a crap about there work, working on your car. Go to express service place where they have an hourly guy who has been working there for all of 6 months and has never even touched a corvette doing your work. Some times you actually do get what you pay for.

Personally, I try to do the minor things myself. But I am still under an extended warranty which gives me a lot of peace of mind. I am also a member of a local Corvette Club who has an excellent Chevy Dealer (Nyhus Chevrolet in Staples, MN) for a club sponser. Consequently, I don't think twice about going to this dealer for service. I am treated well. I pay a fair price. And the dealer stands behind the work performed.
Maybe I'm just fortunate, but when I read of all the problems that foks on this forum have with their cars, and I can honestly say I have had ZERO problems with our 04 coupe, it makes me wonder if perhaps those folks with the problems should consider letting someone with the right tools, knowledge, and experience perform some of their service work.
I'm an amateur mechanic. I have a nice tool box in the garage. But I think the best tool I own is the brain God gave me to comprehend when a project is beyond my capabilities.

While I have experienced this first hand......

I have a GMPP warranty and kept trying to find a "good dealer".

I found a tech at one that treated me more than fairly, did excellent work, and earned my trust. They will get any of my business that is warranty related.

They may be the in the minority, but if you find a dealer you trust, you need to support them.....

Guess that I am also lucky. A friend of mine owns the local dealership and is also a Corvette owner. I am friends with the service manager and service writer. On the Vette I normally do my own work or if it is something speed related the work is done at ECS. My other cars are worked on at this dealership that bends over backwards to treat me well to include free loaners while the car is in the shop. When I take the Trailblazer SS (LS2 motor) in for service, I buy the mobil 1 and oil filter at Walmart and the dealership charges me $9 and change to complete the service. Beat that. It is certainly worth $9 not to have to put the SS up on ramps, crawl under it and drop the oil and filter. Too bad that so many dealerships are ripping people off and giving terrible service. Glad I'm one of the few that don't have to deal with that crap.

It's a new program that GM pushed on all dealers about 6 months ago as a "Customer Retention Tool". We use it at our dealership with limited success. It is a completely self funded program, and points are not transferable. IE, if I give you 100 points, you can't redeem them at your local dealership. It's only good at the issuing dealer to keep youcomming back.

Basic math/theory is I'll give you 10%-25% off today for you to come back and pay me 50%-60% profit tomorrow.
