That message is the only greeting on a C5 - nothing to set or change. If you want to see it - turn the ignition on without starting the car and wait for that to scroll.
Press Reset to clear the sensor message, matter of fact access the DTCs are there any listed. If so note them and clear ALL modes. Then try again insert key and to the ON position it goes by quickly so you might just catch Chevrolet.

I don't think the OP is confused about the make and model he's driving, he is simply asking a question about a normal function of his vehicle that does not appear to be working. Why is that confusing to you?
Not long after I got my C5, I was cleaning the inside and somehow bumped a button and the DIC was "silent" after that. I don't remember if it was the reset button or not, but just mess around with it a little bit, and I bet the Chrevrolet script will come back up.

I'm not confused, I know it's a Corvette by Chevrolet everytime I get in mine, I don't need a reminder. As a matter of fact, I wish they would have put less badging on it.
It wasn't the best one (I couldn't find it). On the one above, the reflections on the dash frame plastic doesn't line up with the letters - a real giveaway. On the pic I couldn't find, I had the reflection just right.
