So the only thing holding me back from going right out and getting a Corvette, is the fact that I've never been in/given a ride in one. Anyone feel like being nice enough to change that? orlando,fl
Never drove or went for a ride in a Vette. Sitting here two months ago I saw a picture of a MY C5. Found a MY 04Z on Carmax that night. Ordered it and am proud to say I'm addicted and love it.
I'd take you for a ride in mine if I lived near you, but as others have said, there's no way you're not going to absolutely love the car when you drive it. You'd have to be brain dead if you thought it wasn't the time of your life!
The only other Corvette I had ever ridden in, was a 64 Stingray some 40 years ago. I looked at and test drove 3 or 4 other Z's last summer, and finally settled on my black 03. You know you want one, so just do it .
P.S. At about the same time that I rode in that 64 Stingray, I also got a ride in a friend's 66 Shelby 427 Cobra. That was one of the scariest rides I have ever had
When I first saw the C5 I was pretty sure I wanted one. This was in '98. I took one out for a test drive and by the time we left the driveway, I knew I was buying this car. Five years later I decided it was time to move up to a Z06. Went to a dealer to test drive a Z. Same thing happened again, as soon as I got going I knew I was trading the '98 coupe for the '03 Z that I still have. I'd give you a ride too, but I agree with all the others. If you think you want a Z, you WILL buy one as soon as you drive it. There is an aura you will experience the moment your behind touches the seat.
When the C5 first came out I got a ride in one as a passenger,. Then was able to drive a couple after on my own. I couldn't afford one at that time. Now i have 2 what does that tell you. Just Do It!!!!
True Story. Never drove/sat-in a vette in my life. Always went into dealerships, wanted to sit in one, doors were always locked. Salesman wanted to see my money. Showed him. Peeled rubber in my new Z-28 Camaro. 7 of them to be exact. When I was blessed enough to finally get a vette, had to be a ZO6!! Went into the dealership, showed him my "vette" money, took it around the block, ONCE! Sealed the deal and drove out. You dont need a free drive. Get up, go down, show him the money, get in, DRIVE OUT!!. You'll be okay.
Just go to Roger's Corvette on the northside of Orlando. Roger has +/-120 used Vette's in his lot. Sit in the one you like, start it up, get out your check book.
You'll smile from ear to ear each time you drive your Vette!
