Default Strange problem with headlights

Lately I have noticed when I drive at night, occassionally the headlights will dim slightly, and then brighten up again. I also notice when it does this, the volt gauge drops about 1/2 volt and then goes back to normal. In the 12 mile drive from work to home, it happens maybe a half dozen times, and it doesn't seem to matter if I'm on a straight stretch of road or in a turn. Also going from smooth road to bumpy doesn't seem to make any difference. Bad alternator maybe? Or a ground problem? Anyone else have a similar issue?

Battery cable terminals.

If they are stripped out or corroded you may have to replace the terminals. You may get lucky and just be able to tighten them down.

The lights will also go dim at night when you close your windows or hit a big bump or even slow down for a stop sign.

Thanks. I'll check that out.

Sounds like a bad connection or ground.

Give this a looksee. Both pos/neg cables are easy to trace to check for a break in the wires. Also check the grounds behind both headlights on the frame rails.
