Horn blowing for no reason
The other day my horn on my 2000 vette just started blowing for no reason. I disconnected the battery, only to find my battery dead 2 days later. After recharging and connecting battrey back the horn was blowing again, went inside and hit the horn button on the steering wheel and it stoped. Looks like it is the horn contacts in the steering wheel. How does the horn button cover come off and what do you think about this repair?

It's blowing for a good reason actually. The horn membrane switch is going bad. Not an overly common problem but comes up once a month or so. Here's a DIY repair thread that is not for the faint of heart.

Go to page 2 and post #39 for availability of a replacement membrane switch. Also available from Ecklers as of just recently.
Here's another thread from the past week or so about the same issue:

As I understand it there are 2 torx head screws (T30) that must come out of the back of the steering wheel center section to remove the airbag component (SIR). The steering wheel itself does not have to come off. Be sure to disconnect the battery at least 10 minutes before you begin removing the air bag so that it does not go off in your face.............
I have read that you need the Torx Head bit that goes in the end of a socket and then need a short extension on the end of a ratchet to be able to get the screws out. Very tight place to work. You need a T30 with some length on an extender bit to get up in there.
The trick is to tilt the wheel up and turn the wheel so that the screw portion is facing down so you clear the dash.
Once the air bag section is off it shoulf be exactly as described in the first link I gave above.

A whole lot better than buying an airbag.
