Default Rear Deck Spoiler

Well the mod bug bites again. I placed an order with Josh at RPI Designs for one of his pre-painted rear deck spoiler. I can't wait for it to arrive and get it installed. Next is the front splitter. I was looking (and still am) at the ACI unit, but Josh told me they are working on a new style splitter for C5's that is much like the splitter on the ZR1. He already has it for the C6, next is the C5. So I will hold off until I see his new one. Will post some pictures of before and after of the spoiler.

Got mine from Josh some time back while living in Houston. It's a great piece! I suggest you place it in the sun for a bit when installing, it makes it conform to your cars body lines easier. Masking tape, hair dryer & an extra pair of hands will make for a easy instal. Good luck & enjoy your ride!

The sun will not be a problem here in Florida, and I was going to get my son to help. Thanks for the advice.

mine fit great without heating -- but be sure to dry-fit then mark with masking tape as suggested -- when the double-sided tape is exposed you really have only one chance to get it on right.

glad to hear about the RPI front splitter - I feel the need.

I e-mail Josh about maybe doing the ACI front splitter and that is when he told me about the new one thay are working on. I looked at his C6 splitter and it is a top notch looking item. I canm only hope the C5 version is as nice. Really looking forward to see it.

RPI pre-painted spoiler for me. The match on my (hard to match) AE paint is PERFECT.

Take your time during installation. Pre-fit with blue painter's tape with the adhesive backing still on. Then, pull from the center as in the directions.

TIP: I moved where the tape is on the spoiler toward the center of the wing. I did not want to be able to see the tape from ANY angle when installed. What I ended up with is little....I mean very little if any gap between the spoiler and the body.

Good Luck and Enjoy

Thanks for the advice. I was planning on the painters tape to mark it before I removed the tape on the spoiler. I have seem a few of RPI's on the forum and they look good.

Move the 3M tape inward toward the middle of the wing a bit and you will be happier with the install. Many, many complain about seeing the cross-section of the tape from closeup angles. You cannot on mine.
