Default What rotors?

OK, I just bought my first Vette yesterday. It is a 02 Z06. I need new front rotors and just checking to see what others have purchased.
Thanks for any info.

I know complete newb, but I just want to see which ones people have had good experence with which ones to stay away from.

I use ATE slotted rotors from Tirerack. They don't rust!

Yes... but they do crack. Been there, purchased those.

Stick with OEM (no drilled or slotted). ESPECIALLY if you are going to drive it like a Z06 should be... at the track.

Search the big auction site or one of the preferred vendors here on CF. I buy them regularly for $175 shipped for all four.

I guess I don't drive that hard on the track. I've used them for three years without issues. If you push, anything can break. I also use Power Stop Slotted on my Cobra and they're great on or off the track.

I had high hopes for them too. In ATE's defense, they did start cracking at TGPR which is fairly rough on brakes.

I ran three track days at LS last year and turned 1:50 laps on a stock setup. That's movin' fairly well there and didn't have issues. I'll keep an eye on them because that track is very rough on brakes.

If you plan to use the car for any HPDE events, stay away from drilled and slotted rotors - they WILL crack. Use either stock or slotted rotors. If you go the slotted route, buy some that have been heat treated. Good luck!

If all you are going to do is drive on the street just go with NAPA rotors. Find a store that will sell them at wholesale and they will cost you about $50 each. Most track drivers use these as they are cheap and last about as long as any other non-drilled rotor before cracking. On the street you will get many years and miles of usage. The OEM rotors are great as well but usually cost more.

Check TireRack.com, they have multiple choices around 50 bucks per wheel. I've used the Ate $48, as mentioned they look good. I did get some spidering or "heat checking" which some people call "cracks" but really are nothing to be worried about unless they progress to the edge. TireRack also has solid rotors from Brembo for ~ $50/wheel and Cyrotreated solid rotors for about the same price. No offense to those with the Baer Eradispeed, but they don't work any better, cost a lot more, and are no good for the track if you decide to HPDE. Also great place to shop for brake pads as well.
