Default Driving Lights

Hi All,
This is driving me crazy. A while ago I saw a picture of a C5 that had two round driving lights installed in the front license plate pocket. I want to install these on my Vette but I cannot find the picture on the Net anywhere, nor a vendor selling this kit. I don't know if this was something home made, or maybe a racing (C5R) kit?

If I can do this to my C5, I'd put the plate on one of those "hide-away" type brackets. I could "engineer" this myself, but if a kit was availlable, I'd rather buy it.

Also, what is your opinion of the hoops that go behind the seats on a convertable? I know they are only for looks. Are they hard to put in? Do you lose a lot of legroom? I assume the seats can no longer go all the way back with these installed?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Rob

You can check with Ecklers too - they used to sell a Lemans Style Auxiliary Lighting kit - not sure if they still do.

Regarding the seat hoops, there are different versions, thickness, etc. depending on the manufacturer. I installed the set of Chrome Hoops from forum vendor West Coast Corvettes.

You should not (at least I didn't) lose any legroom. I am 6'2" and I still don't drive with the seat all the way back. If you own a convertible, like I do, you need to be real careful with the placement so that the rear top latch will go down all the way. They are designed to fit, so it's pilot error if the latch does not close.

The most difficult part of the installation IMO is the carpet cut around the hoops. You might be better off letting a pro do this mod. They look great and I've gotten many compliments on them as the chrome matches up will with the Medium Spiral Gray.
