Hey guys i am new to Vetts. I have been a mustang guy for the longest time and just bought a 2002 EB ZO6. I LOVE this car and am glad i made the crossover. the car is in amazing shape and i got a great deal on her. The only problem ive noticed so far is that at around 70-75 MPH there is a vibration. I know it is usually alignment issues but it is not a constint vibration. It does it for like 2 or three seconds than stops for like the same and repeates. I know the breaks need to be replaced. Could that be the problem?? Any info you guys could give me would be appreciated. I dont know if that is a normal thing for vetts once something needs to be replaced. Thanks everyone for listening.
It sounds like you might need to have the balance on the wheels checked - it very well could be a thrown weight or just straight out of balance
Had a similar prob got new rear tires and balance and it smoothed right out - the only thing brakes will do is pulsate or wobble or vibrate when the brakes are applied and this is mainly due to overheated rotors a
making them warped
Due to the dynamics of the wheels on these things, many do not want to put weights on the outside (visible) of the wheel. Take it to a shop that has a Hunter Road Force balancer and they may be able to make it work or rotate the tire on the wheel to get a proper balance. If that still doesn't get it, they may have to place a weight on the outside edge of the wheel which will usually take care of the harmonic 2-3 sec vibration.
Went through this once and learned a lot especially about aftermarket wheels.
I agree with the above. If they find a problem tire the Hunter machine will instruct them to dismount and spin the tire to a specific location, mount and re-balance. They should be able to balance them with a minimum of weight. Most of mine have one small section of stick on weight on in inside of the wheel.
The brakes you would feel when you are applying very light pressure.
