Default CAGS Skip Shift Bypass Question?

Can the CAGS bypass module be installed on an '01 Z06 without using a lift? What I'm trying to find out is if it can be done by jacking up the car and removing the rear wheel. If anyone did it this way, can you please post a how-to? Thanks

I don't see why you would need to remove a wheel. It's no where near the wheels. Best if you lifted it by a floor jack from the rear and then blocked it up with jack stands.
Once you crawl under there it's pretty self evident how to hook it up.
You're going to love how it shifts.

No need to take a wheel off or use a lift. A floor jack and a couple jack stands and about 10 minutes start to finish is all you need.

I have had my C5 for going on 4 years now, and I did not really mind the 1 to 4 shift when I first got it, and actually it hardly ever happens because I usually run the rpm's high enough to null it out. But It still happens sometimes and I have been thinking of adding it on mine. What vendor here sells them?

Take your pick of vendor's here really, I got my first one from Corvettes of Houston. I think they are still sponsors.

Or you can make one yourself if you can solder a $1 resistor to a wire like I did after having 2 new ones not last more than 8 months each.

You just need to jack up the car or use Rhino ramps, do it the next time you change your oil.

It's so easy, even a CAVEMAN can do it

Could you go into the computer with a Tech 2 scan tool and disable the 1 to 4? I have seveal friends and am going to look into it.

Yes you can. The skip shift eliminator is only a dimple resistor in a weather pack connector.

Doing it at your next oil change is the easiest way out.

I always installed mine just using a floor jack and some jack stands. You just need room to get under the car and install the CAGS bypass - no need at all to remove any wheels.

I jacked mine up using a floor jack, slid under unplugged a connector, and plugged in the CAGS eliminator. A very simple, very fast mod.

Would you provide more specifics on how you did this?
Thanks!

The connector going into the trans only has 2 wires-bet you can figure the rest out.

Yeah, pretty much what he said.

And here is the resistor you need to get. A pack of 5 is like a buck and some change. You can be fancy and get connectors to plug into the stock wiring so it can be returned to normal or you can just cut and splice.
