Anyone using the black MidAmerica front mask on their C5? It's part number 628-630 and comes with an embroidered C5 emblem on the front. At present, the mask is on sale for $99. Looking for some input before I purchase this one or another. Any and all advice will be appreciated.

I just got this mask.My instructions wre hard to understand. No pictures. One plastic clip broke and a elastic loop broke.I have not gotten a call back yet from Mid America.Over all it is a great looking mask. The broken clip I replaced with a metal one and resewn the loop. The inside label says made in China.Overall I will keep it on.

It's too bad we can't buy anything actually made in America anymore. I know GM farmed out many of their aftermarket items to foreign countries as one mask I looked at was made in Mexico. I'm sure the C5 as well as the C6 has some parts in it that were made in China and sent here for installations, etc. so this isn't a rant on buying American. It's just sad that the iconic American Sportscar has been reduced to this.
I would love a more economical alternative to Speed Lingerie, however there probably aren't too many.
I'm glad your mask is working out.
I live in Florida and two houses down the street had the Chinese drywall installed so I guess I'm a little biased these days.

I didn't look up your part no. but the one I got has a hole where the emblem is, showing the real emblem; nothing embroidered

I got mine off ebay, but it came from MidAmerica and has No snaps and No plastic hooks. All were metal. Directions do make you think as there are no pics as you stated.
We're going on a 10day roadtrip in May and need to do something with a mask ourselves. We're leaning towards the 3M clearbra or similar application as the wife really despises the bra/cover look. Found a local installer who will do the application for $500 to cover the front bumper/hood/light covers and mirrors. For an extra $100, he agreed to tint the windows too. It was the best price around and I really like the look/function much better than a black or even color matched bra.
The wife did find another option that is a DIY application called Road Warrior Plus. It's a paint protection that is water based, you can apply it yourself. It peels off clean with no residue and you can reapply as needed. http://www.roadwarriorplus.com/ I was considering using this to protect the area behind the tires. At about $53/qt it sounds worth looking at.

I ordered the factory GM bra from Gene at gmpartshouse.com - about $78 and it fits very good. Tough to get it on at first as the leather needs to stretch a bit, but a quality product.
I've got the mid-america mask too - fits fine and goes on fairly easy - one of the elastic straps at the bottom did break although it hasn't really affected the way works. I just use it for road trips and it works fine.

Does yours have the C5 logo? I've seen a few with and a few without. I would like to get one that has the logo.
