HVAC Billet Knobs--What Am I Missing??

HVAC Billet *****--What Am I Missing??
Have an 01 Vert with electronic climate control.
Got a set of chrome billet ***** from Chip at CCA and love them.
EXCEPT the passenger side adjustment **** does not fit into the narrower base that accomodates a flange on the stock ****. That makes the passenger **** stick out farther than the drivers side ****, and without the flange I'm not sure if the passenger temp would actually be indepently adjustable.
Chip is willing to take them back, but I would like to use them if possible.
Anyone have a fix for this?
