Default Need Quick Answer Please

I was going do a coolant flush - bought Prestone Extended Orange stuff (Dexcool) it says GM approved.

Question, I expected to pull orange coolant out but its Red.

GM recommends their stuff or havoline? Is GM stuff or Havoline Red?

Reason, I ask is DexCool is what is supposed to go in the engine but I'm not sure exactly what is in there now since its Red, I could assume its Dexcool but it could be ethyl Glc and just have red dye in it?

Advice? Because you are not supposed to use different types mixed together.

You'll be fine with the Prestone after you flush.

Thanks everyone, I also talked to my friend and mechanic right after I posted the thread.

My coolant is now a full bright orange and everything is swapped out.

Its almost 2X the cost of the green stuff.

Prestone is fine - and this reminds me that I need to get mine in for a coolant flush and fill.
