So I am trying to do this Ti muffler mod.. I need tubing grade 2 I think everyone is using 1.5 but if i can find 1.75 or 2" I would like to don't know what wall thickness either. I just need someone who knows what to buy to tell me what to get so I can have someone local do this. I am tired of my car sounding weak. Yes i have search there are so many different types of tubing, seamless? welded tubing?
Totally bs mod. Not worth the time and money................ A 2 HP increase at best.
Want a loud car, (like all the kids with mustangs) buy headers and stingers.
But hey, to each his own.
No exactly a fair assessment, IMO. By doing a "Ti bypass mod" , you retain the extremely light Ti catback, and the result is greatly improved sound. I've heard lots of sound clips, and it's quite the improvement.
To the OP, Google Sandvik Special Metals. They are a Titanium tubing manufacturer right here in the Tri-Cities. (Finley, WA. a suburb of Kennewick) I'd use 1.75 or 2".
Tico Titanium is where I bought mine. Go thicker than .030, it was difficult for my welder to notch that thin.
It is a fantastic mod...much better sound than stock or most aftermarket exhausts...sounds very exotic, still lighter than any other "muffler'd" exhaust, and you keep the Ti. I do like the sound of Borla Stingers, but they are just too loud...would blow the db level at Limerock.
