The reason I ask is I am looking at a C5 vette with red interior and from his pics it looks different. His looks darker, maybe a burgundy shade?

Yes this is factory Torch Red, Very rare in 2002 with Pewter, C5 comes with another red called Firethorn which is a lot darker.
