The C6/Z06 **** mounts with a single TORX fastener on the side of the oem shifter (or after market) lever. Also, the top of the lever is machined for the C6/Z06 ****.
Whereas, the C5/Z06 **** threads onto the top of the oem (or after market) shifter levers which use 9/16-18" threads.
Many of the after market shifters are now compatible with the C6/Z06 **** and/or C5/Z06 ****. They're both threaded on the lever and have a drilled/tapped position for the side mount design.
If you own or buy a real early after market shifter, chances are it will not be drilled/tapped for the C6/Z06 fastener.
Check with the manufacturer of the after market shifter or check it carefully to insure it has the capability to mount the C6/Z06 ****.
The other option is to find the seller on EBAY who modifies the C6/Z06 ***** to mount onto the C5/Z06 shifters with 9/16-18" threads.
My shifter is an early B&M so I doubt it has the tapped hole on the side. I'll see if I can find one on ebay or I'll just use this as an excuse to switch to an updated shifter. Thanks
Thanks, glad I didn't get the Camaro one. One last question, I have seen overlays for the shift pattern before that change it to black with red lettering, has anyone seen those? If so, where do I get one? Thanks
