has any one put on a vertical door kit from either dream car custom or vertical door inc. if so what is your opinon of the kits, likes or dislikes.
i am thinking of putting a vertical door kit on my 99 coupe. thanks
Go with the Dream car customs kit, no cutting or welding straight bolt on. Fairly easy install and good quality.
I agree, I heve the Dream Car Custom, took half a day to install both sides. no cutting at all, easy install. I like that the door still opens out as well as vertical. I'm very happy with the kit. I have a video I took of my install, send me your email and I'll send to you
I have a dream car custom kit, and thats the only kit I will ever use on a Vette!!! Troy is a great guy and really knows his stuff!!! Tell him Matt Montgomery sent ya!!!
yes i have spoken to troy on the phone and asked some questions. my concern is the wire boot, although the wires in the c5 are long enough to make it with the vertical door kit. the wire protection boot is not so how do you cover the wires and waterproof the door. any suggestions thanks scott

Try to get a first hand look at a car with the doors installed.
I looked at one (vertical doors) a few weeks ago and determined that the door just doesn't open far enough (outward) to get my fat a$$ in comfortably. You CAN get in but it is a little awkward.
I haven't personally seen LSD or Dream Car Customs yet.....

Yea, that looks about the same as the vertical door kit.
With the top down on the vert that would be enough but with it up my old butt needs more flexibility space. If only I were 20-30 years younger..... I'd love to have lambo doors.

its a real pain if the windows are upthats the only issues i really have with my kit. I would assume getting rid of the beer gut would fix this problems easily
I used wire loom and then an aeroquip hydraulic hose sleeve, along with a good quality black silicone to seal up around the boots. I don't expect to have any corrosion issues.
I went with vertical doors becasue at the time dream cars only made them for c-3 to c-4. I did however buy from dream cars for my red c-4 that is on thier site. It works mush better and uses shocks that you can buy at a parts store. Plus you dont have to cut the inner fender. If I had it to do over again I would go with that design. I still like my set but replacing that single giant shock is a bit more pricey.
