Default OEM Waterfall for Coupe

Can anyone tell me what modifictions (if any) are necessary to install an OEM waterfall from a convertible, into a coupe? I know there are leather versions out there, but I like the OEM, painted waterfalls from a convertible.

I can't say that I've ever seen a convertable waterfall in a coupe.

I've seen a pic of one in a Z06 but I'm guessing that it was relatively easy to do considering it's practically a vert.

My '02 Z came with one already installed. It is the only one I've ever seen and since it came from a dealer, I never spoke the the PO to find out what all he did to install.

I can tell you it was done with a great finish. There are aluminum "L" brackets rivited to the waterfall and to the trim area in and around the FRC window. They also used black silicon to close the seam between the waterfall and the trim. It looks very clean.

I've had comments pro/con about it, but I'll be removing it pretty soon; just a matter of preference. I intend to try and photo it before I remove it, but it will be hard to ft my body in the trunk, let alone try and get pics just so I can keep documentation on the car.

Yes, I have seen it done on a 2000 Red coupe. It came out very well, couldn't tell the vert from the coupe installation. He is in the WSCC Corvette association, Santa Clara Corvette club (Nothern Cal.) HIs name is Dave Jacobsen. I will try and get an e-mail or phone number for you to get the details on the install. He has the Bright Red color matching going on in his Interior, Radio Bezel, lwr counsol, grips, and the waterfall as well. I'll see what I can find out...

I've always wonderd about this mod too. Going to put in a 6pt roll bar, so, don't really know if that would work any more.

My attempt at this was to put a nose emblem behind the console. Not exactly the same, but close.

I thought I had a pic, guess I will need to make one.

How much do these things cost? Aftermarket or OEM? Guessin' I could just go after market if I'm just going to cut it up to put my bars through it, but it would make it look cooler.

The install wasn't bad at all.... I am actually selling those pieces if you're interested. It is cut and ready to fit any FRC or Z06. Shoot me a PM if you'd like more info.

Interesting. I actually wish my convertible DIDN'T have one. I'd like to access the storage through there.

Joe - I saw your post on CF previously, which is what made me post my initial thread. I'm thinking I probably saw the waterfall in a Z06 ... guess I did not realize it's a different set-up for a coupe.

Thanks Canyon! Looks great!

I will take it ... where can I send the check!?

Do you mind if I ask what was involved in the process, and/or the skill level (aside from paint)?

Hi Steven,

thanks, I would say Im a decent body guy and it wasnt all that difficult to make, however, after seeing the one that Autobuffs offers, I would buy theirs next and modify it for drinkholders

Yes, I saw theirs, but didn't think the larger upper piece was the proper look for my car. I like yours ... with or without the cupholders. So, I am guessing a layman would have issues ... but a bodyman would treat this as a weekend project?

Hmmmm ... looking at yours again, in detail. So the pieces behind the seats in your creation are in a different color. I *like* that.
