I love mine. I've had convertibles since I was a kid. Love the free and open ride, next to a motorcycle it's the best way to travel.

2- Never. I have black.

3- NO

4- Not a problem. I just use my Vette for pleasure, never racing.

5- Yes. Hopefully I will be able to upgrade someday.

well ... I guess that answers that then...

Do you think the Interior (seats) seem to be about the only weak spot on these cars (from the posts about rips etc) any chance you think the Sun would beat down the seats that much faster ?

No regrets! Personally, I love the look of roadsters.

I think your choice depends on which body style you like best. You'll be thrilled with which ever you choose.

Default Verts are the Only Way to Go

I've had my baby for 7 years now and would never consider anything but a convertible. A couple of years ago I was comparing notes with some exec's about a run in a pre-production ZR-1. We agreed that it was fast and fun, but will always enjoying owning convertibles more.

There is nothing to compare to the top down at the Sloan Cruise in Flint, or an evening drive on Woodward or a winding country road, day or night!

As for the seats, a little care and leather protection a few times during summer and they are hard to tell from new. Besides when it is outside, we're blocking the sun by sitting in the seats. If we're out in the vert, its in the garage or the top is up.

When the wife and I decided to buy a vette 1.5 years ago I wanted a Z06, she wanted a vert and automatic. We bought the vert with no regreds. Nothing quite like the top down in 90 deg weather cruising a highway.

No, would still do it...weight is not really an issue since it is a manual top. Heard they are very close to the weight of a Coupe. I would do a hardtop if I had somewhere to race really close by, but it's a street car.

When I travel and spend the night in a motel, I'd feel more secure if my vert were a coupe. But nothing has happened so far, of course I get upset when it isn't spending the night in its own stable to begin with. That would be the only time.

Never, the top breathes. Unless your talking about mid summer sun and you have black interior, you just might notice ... ouch with the top down. I know oak is cooler and I'm sure the light gray would be too. You notice the black console it can get warm quickly but that would happen with the top out in a coupe too.

Some have reported the rear window falling in. C6 and C5 replacement tops have a different seal on the window. Now I suppose if you are really careful about not applying a lot of pressure when you wipe it clean or dry, should be fine. Not that I'm saying that's the cause, and the fix by the way is fairly simple.

Does it weigh much, no not at all.

More importantly I enjoy my vert much more than my previous C4 coupes.

A C6 vert, sure would love one. More so than the C6 coupe.

(no offense coupe & frc people)

My only regret was that I did not buy a vert first. I like the look without the long glass + L5 fenders look great on the vert especially with the top down.

Absolutely no regrets. If it is a bit more weight? It must be in a good place.

I think this photo says it all. Bought this car in December 97. This one is a driver and we do. Lot's a mods and 125K miles.
