Default Bassani exhaust system - comments

Yes, I have read most of the prior Bassani threads, and listened to the sound videos. Just bought a 2000 vert with a Bassani system, and I am interested in how Bassani is accepted by the C5 community in comparison to the other C5 exhaust systems, and how the stainless material withstood the driving environment. Most comments were 2-4 years old, and I'm wondering if opinions have changed over time.

Thanks for any replies.

I ran a Bassani x-pipe on my '00 and IMO it was an excellent product. I bought it to help reduce the resonance and popping I was getting with my B&B Route 66 catbacks and it did a great job. Had it on for better than 6 years and while my car was not a daily driver, the pipes still looked great after that amount of time. Not really sure just how good their mufflers are though. I was very pleased with my B&B set - high polished stainless and they always looked good.

I have the Bassani axle back with an x-pipe. It was on the car when I bought it in 2007. I like the sound and they polish up nicely. I've concidered other exhausts, but I'm a cheap bastard and won't change until they fall apart.

I have had a Bassani system on my Z16 for 5 years with no problems. I love the sound and still get comments on the sound and tips all the time.

I've had my Bassani cat back for about a month now on my 04 vert. I just love the sound and the tips look great. Can hardly notice them with the music on. When listening to it from outside, however, it sure gets people's attention.

I had Bassani on my Lightning a few year back. Great quality and sound. I would (may) by them again for my vette. I don't think they are as popular w vette guys.....but they still are a great product.

I'm considering a Bassani exhaust for my 03 Z06 with long tubes and Borla x-pipe. I'm looking at the Bassani "Dominator GT Street" system in particular. Anyone have this system with long tubes and x-pipe? I've heard the youtube vids of cars with this setup from the outside and it sounds great but how is the interior sound? Any drone at cruising speeds? I'm also considering the GHL Bullets and Corsa Extreme systems because they advertise no drone.

My buddies '00 vert has a Bassani catback. I don't know which model. Too quiet, no growl, IMO.

Bassani makes a couple different versions. I have the street/comp version and the last word I have ever heard used to describe them is quiet.

5797Q5SC

Bassani Exhaust System for Corvette 97-04 C5 LS1 Stainless Steel.

2 1/2 diameter tube, dual 4x8x16 mufflers, quad 4 single wall straight cut polished stainless tips with billet aluminum inserts, designed for street and competition use, aggressive sound, stock location exit.

Definately not the same Bassani system my buddy has. Nice sound to those.

I have the Bassani exhuast on my FRC. It's great not too loud and not too quiet. It yells on acceleration. I don't plan on buying another system.
