Default C5 Z06 headliner options?

My headliner is pretty much toast. Apparently the car has been leaking water at the top of the A-pillar on passenger side and this has ruined the headliner material/backing that fabric is glued to. Unfortunately GM has deep sixed this part and does appear to have a replacement alternative. I am checking into a custom one and may even attempt one myself. I just wanted to get some ideas from you guys.

Thank you,

David Dugger

Default headliner

It will be very interesting to me to hear if anyone has ideas. I think the headliner while not something you stare at for any period is one of the cheapest looking things about our Zs. Mine sticks down in the front like it has nothing to attach to? Im afraid to mess with it thinking it might fall down?
Good luck! I will be watching this post!

iv done 2 headliners on third gen camaros, and one on an 84 cutless supreme. the z06 would be even easier due to the size. what i did was got headliner adhesive glue from local auto store, then headliner material from the local fabric store. you take the old headliner out which is a shell held up by the plastic trim etc around it, pull the old fabric off, clean it up, then spray both the shell and the back of the material. let it set for a few minutes the 2 people place it on. start on one side and work your way over while the 2nd person holds it up off of where you havnt done yet. trim it up and curl the edges over, let it dry and you got a new headliner. all 3 iv done so far look absolutely brand new, and after over a year no problems at all. all 3 cost be 15-30 dollars in material. pretty easy job that most places will charge you about 200 for

Just like I mentioned on ls1tech... cruise the classifieds and snag a good one from a car being parted out.

oh I have been and will continue to do so...when they pop up, they are gone! Mine is pretty bad around the edges and the material there has become soft and flakey. I am thinking of taking it to a local upholstery shop and see if they can work some vooodooo to bring it back from the dead, or use it as a template.

On the first page of the sale section there's a Zo6 being parted and he still has the headliner.

He wants to sell local (Kalifornia), but it's worth a shot trying to talk him into shipping...

Default Part Not Available?

Hi,
The headliner in my 03 is perfect, but Im too tall and my head hits the safety bump that was added for 03 - 04!

I will probably get the earlier version w/o the added safety bump:

P/N: 10253386, I believe this part is still available? Most likely have to order it locally, shipping costs will be high (due to size of the box it would have to be shipped in).

thanks, i am having the same problem as the OP but on my driver's side. was going to price a custom zebra print one as well.

does anybody know the part number for floor carpeting for the driver's side in black?? my carpet took a major hit but i don't want to shell out 500 bucks for an entire new set from midamerica... i want it to be OEM and with hooks for the floor mats etc. this weatherstripping problem blows my ***. plus its a z06 so the local dealership kept trying to tell me it was 3 seperate pieces, for the REMOVABLE HARDTOP that my car doesn't have. rocket surgery, yall.
