Hey guys,
My truck got broke into last week and everything was stolen, and I mean everything. Just wondering what the best car alarm is out there for the money. Thinking about putting one on the truck now and upgrading the one on the vette. I couldn't find many threads on here, but maybe I was looking in the wrong place. thanks in advance.

I have an an Auto Page RS915 with Skyway tracking system. Lots of great features and highly programmable. The Skyway system (seperate add on) allows you to track the car on remote basis via your computer.
Not cheap, but I feel one of the best on the market.
Had mine over a year now. Never ha a problem with the alarm itself. The remote though is somewhat too sensitive. I dropped it once once -had to dish out $100 for a new one because the screen filled up with ink(?). Anyways, couldn't use it. But alarm itself is really great. 1/2 mile detection is nice too. They claim 1 mile. In the wide open maybe! Everything is alarmed, windows trunk, hood, doors etc. I have it set so you really need to bump the car (like if someone backs into her) for the motion part to go off. This way trucks won't set it off!
any good unit that allows tracking via gps. you can't stop someone who will attempt to steal your stuff or your car, but at least you can minimize the damages (by getting the car back quickly before it can be stripped, etc). if they want your stuff, they'll get your stuff. just think about what you do when you ar in a parking lot or garage and you hear an alarm go off. most people might turn around, but that's pretty much it. it may scare away the amateurs, but not the pros.
my choice: 357 magnum or glock 9mm along with the doberman who sleeps in the car, lol!
I agree with Kale - best to spend your $$ on a lower deductible rather than a fancy alarm - good alarm might recover the car - but seldom will prevent burglary of the items inside. Incredibly easy to break into a Vette.
Incredibly stupid device. LOL If I had a gun and that thing started up... I'd just start shooting... If I'm going down, I'm taking everyone with me.
Stock alarm is fine. Theft is what insurance is for. I'm not going to pay for theft insurance on a car and then spend a billion dollars on a fancy alarm.
Besides, who wants their car back after it's been vandalized and joy-ridden? Truth is that it'll never feel like your car again. Like an invasion of privacy that's permanent.
