I like the M5, but would much rather have the E55. More class IMO:D I wanted one, but there was a 2 yr wait (new one) :eek: and had to settle for a 2000 S430 instead :cry

Yeah, that yellow car is slammed! Z0 Sick, don't bring that ground hugging machine to Chicago. We have potholes so big that if you fell in one we'd have to send in a search party.

There's no arguing with the AMG SL55!! :eek:
That car beat all the top exotics from 0-186 mph and topped 200 mph. It wasn't designed for quick 1/4 mile times, but there are a very select few cars that could hang with it at high speed. I believe the stock C5, which is no slug, does 0-150 mph in the 29-30+ second range. I bet the SL55 has close to its rated BHP at the wheels, kind of the like how the "385 BHP" Mustang Cobra R dynoed at 376 RWHP in one magazine test. I would not take any AMG car lightly, let alone this beast!

Yes, but without exception the Bimmers always are more "sporty" then the Mercedes. First of all, the Merc doesn't even offer a manual. No question they are autobahn stormers, always have been, but for the enthusiast the BMW is a better choice. I for one think AMG should incorporate some of their F1 work into their street cars. I would be there is easily 50hp in the current M5 engine and it is a 5.0 liter. If they raise the displacement the could easily be near the numbers of the supercharged Mercedes. If they go V10 it will also have tons of torque although it is likely it will be typical //M engine in that it will use revs for hp.
I mean really,what is more fun to drive, a de-tuned race engine with a manual transmission or s/c street engine with an auto? Easy answer for me. The real rich old guys, NBA stars and rappers can keep the Mercedes with their "20's". :rolleyes:

I got butt ended in December. I was totally, totally satisfied with my 01 Z.
Suddenly I had to get another car. I honestly made the rounds; BMW, Porsche, Jag. The M5 and M3 were both REALLY nice rides. IMHO they are in a class alone.
It was a DuPont Chemical 18 wheeler that kissed me butt, so I could get whatever I wanted... I'm in my second Z06.
