Great advice! Thanks. Emailed both and they both have already responded. How about that for service. They will be first on my list for the accessories purchases.

ALso does this mean the CLB recall was performed on this car or not?

Is it an automatic? If so, that's why it says "n/a". If it's a 6 speed, you still need to get a Column lock bypass if it doesn't already have one.

PS You'll get better answers if you include more info in your question. Transmission, for example. If you buy, fill out your profile. Always include pertinent info in the question, all years and all styles are not the same.

 

It is a six speed. Found the sticky on CLB. So for an 02 MN6 even if they did the recall it doesn't matter as it was just a programming change and the problem is just as likely to strand the car. So my best option when I pick up the car is to check to see if the previous owner installed a CLB aftermarket unit - correct? They only way to tell is to physically see it.

If by seeing "it" you mean put the key in your pocket and just turn the wheel, if it turns freely all the way back and forth, it has it done, if it don't, you need to do it...then yes!!!

By "it" he means the CLB, not the factory nonfix.

 

OK - Good info for an initial check. I didn't know this works with an MN6.

 

Even if it doesn't lock, you still need the CLB. Check to see if you have one, if not, get one. You'll be hassled with the fuel cutoff or at least by the error messages when it thinks it's locked. Just make sure you have the aftermarket CLB.

 

No doubt I am going to check for the aftermarket CLB and put it in if not there. I was just interested if I could know right away when picking the car up if it had been done.
