Default TireRack...com....

I just got my tires put on from tire rack! Everything was perfect! I only had a little issue with them but they did it out of concern. They held my order due to that the tires i ordered were not runflats. So i sent the email back saying i understood to late and my order was held until monday when they got back into the office. But it was only concern so i guess its not a bad thing and i had them on tuesday. So SUPER FAST SHIPPING! Just another great cust from cf.
Also to the people that replied i ended up going bfgoodrich a/s and they ride GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

Verdict: Buy tires from tirerack!

When I bought the tires for the Vette, I had MSI (Roseville) do the mounting. That's because I had these tires mounted on my new SSR GT-3 Alloyed Rims and because it was my Vette (a lot of TLC). However, on my other car, I had a local Big O store do the mounting for a small labor fee & misc cost for tire parts (strems. weights & balancing).

Check out Tire Rack's "recommended installer program" on their website.
http://www.tirerack.com/installer/index.jsp - Per their structions:

Here's How It Works

Shop our selection of products for your vehicle and add what you need to your cart.
Take a look at the Recommended Installers in your area and read consumer reviews and
pricing information.

Before checkout, select your Installer and save it to your addresses in "My Account" for later.
or
While in the cart, select your Installer and your order will be shipped directly to them.
Call your Recommended Installer to set up an appointment (where available).

Drive in for installation.

Before they shipped my General UHP's,Gavin from TireRack called to make sure I knew they weren't runflats.
Very good people to deal with, and great prices.

Should be getting them mounted and balanced next weekend, looking forward to the non-runflat experience...
My wife's truck needs tires next, and they're coming from Tire Rack also

Thats BS, when I had runflats it was still $20 a tire to remove them and put on different tires. I will say this tho, installing runflats are not easy (at least it was not for me)

I got my 4 Sumitomo's from Tire Rack for $520 including shipping to the house.

I mount and balance them myself as I have access to such equipment. You could have a tire shop do the same for you.

- Jack up the car at home, setting it on blocks
- Go get the old tires off the rims
- Bring the rims home
- CLEAN THEM LIKE NEW, inside, outside, backside, frontside
- Get the new tires mounted
- Spin balance at the "Static" setting to place stick-on weights on the inside of the rim, to avoid unsightly wheel weights.

I would never let a shop clean my rims with that rotary tool that tears them up. Take the rims home, clean them yourself with a rubbing compound and maybe your fingernail for the stubborn stuff, then return to the tire shop with them all cleaned up beautifully.

If the rims seen a lot of winter salt, then you might have to use steel wool or sand paper. But how many Corvette rims see winter salt?

I have been doing business with them for years. Great prices, quick shipping. Nice websight that allows you to compare tires and read feedback from people with similar cars.

Looking at new rear tires for the '04.

Called one of the recommended installers closest to me. (25 miles away)

He didn't sound thrilled that I was buying at Tire Rack.

I won't be taking my Corvette to him.

Looking at the next installer, though he received a high "star" rating, almost ALL of the actual reviews were poor....WTF with his high "STAR" rating?????

Looks like I'm gonna have to use "Discount Tires".
