I have a 1999 coupe. I need to do some fixin to my top (cracks). After doing some searching it appears there are several kinds of tops with these cars. I have a top that is not painted, but not see through. Does anyone know what choices for tops there are? Which top do I have?

Thanks for any information...
Painted or transparent are the only tops that were made for C5s
Correct - you have the transparent top. You can see through it from the inside but it is virtually opaque from the outside. The solid top has a padded liner on the inside. Yours is a polycarbonate material and can be refinished if it's only scratched. Cracks, in general, can not be repaired - the PC must be replaced.
If it is cracked, you might be able to pick up a very nice used one at a good price from the C5 Parts For Sale section.
My original glass top was crazed and the outer surface delaminating or fogging, on the passenger side. Found and bought a near perfect glass top on Craigslist. Had the old one painted (out side only) pewter metallic. Excellent job and perfect paint match. When sitting in the car, looking up, it has a mirrored black appearance.
Well actually guys it sounds like I have a painted top. Seems like the previous owner might have cut the head liner out...it's reflective inside...you can't see through it at all from any direction. The exterior has cracks on the edges, which seems like a plexi material???? not sure...and allows water to enter. It has become worse this winter. I would not have called this painted. But after reading what you guys have told me and some searching I am now thinking I have the painted top with headliner removed. Which btw looks pretty cool LOL...now alot of the replacements seem to be transparent tops for this...I really like the top I have but is there any plus or minus to the transparent top?
Sounds like you have a clear top, that probably started to have finish issues as most of them did, and the owner had the top painted which is common over refinishing the very sensitive material and keeping it transparent.
