With all the rain around California, my suspension squeaks for weeks afterwards and just sounds like crap. Any advice on what to use and what areas to target it quiet it down?
Would think it is most likely the sway bar bushings. Mine were squeaking like crazy in the front on every bump, made the car sound like a piece of junk going over a dip in the road or a speed bump.
I just took the bushings off one at a time and cleaned/lubed them up w/ white lithium grease. Very easy to get to and it took care of every bit of squeaking I had for going on several months now. Some guys just replace the bushings too. All the noise from mine was coming from the front, so I didn't mess w/ the rear sway bar, I assume it is also a likely culprit and easy to access.
I don't think you can actually lube up much else on the suspension thanks to a lack of grease fittings from the factory
the original sway bar bushing have a nylon netting which rests against the sway bar... as time goes on the nylon netting wears away the black paint on the sway bar... soon this area rusts ( iron Oxide ) as the sway bar flexes the iron oxide rubs against the sway bar and causes this squeek... you can easily remove the bushings clean them and the sway bar when they are rusted and add some silicone grease.. do not use any petro grease.. or simply replace the bushings but if you do this, you will have to repaint the area of the sway bar when the nylon removed the paint,,, the grease will keep the sway bars from rusting. Very important, make sure of the orientation of the bushings within the sleeves and make sure you use the correct torque spec..
Good Luck

I've started to hear high-pitched squeaks over every little bump and dip in my '98 Z51 coupe. It sounds like it's coming from the vicinity of the front half of the passenger door. Is this what the sway bar bushings sound like?
