Has anyone ever cleaned a car cover? I have a Wolf cover for my vette and it got in the floor of the garage and a dirt dobber decided to make its nest in it. I was wandering if a gentle wash cycle in the machine would work

I have washed mine in a commercial washer found at a laundromat. Your cover should tell you what type of cycle and detergent to use (I used Dreft) and then let the cover air dry.
commercial washer didnt work to well today, some of the debris was still trapped up in the middle. however i found that stretching it over my nissan altima and a high powered water hose took care of it for the most part
If you wonder about putting it in the dryer, my advice would be don't. I washed mine in the washer, came out fine, but when it air dried, was kind of stiff, so I put it in the dryer to beat it around a little to "soften it up some", and it shrunk a little! Glad I didn't completely dry it.
I have a Wolf cover that I got from Eckler's exactly one year ago, still have the instructions.
Cleaning Instructions
If your Wolf cover becomes dirty or dusty, it should be hand-washed and hung dry.
Hand Washing
Mix a solution, 2 gallons of water to 12oz of all purpose cleaner. Wash contaminated area with a soft clean brush. Rinse area immediately with COLD water and allow cover to air dry.
Hosing off
A simple cleaning method to remove dust, etc. is to hose off the cover while on the car. Turn the cover inside out and install on vehicle to clean dust from the underside of cover. Allow to air dry.
Also happens if one front tire is much softer than the other.......
I have washed both mine is a commercial washer but after first getting the big chucks off. I have also used commercial dryers to get it damp dry and then throw it over the car in the sun to finish drying but then we have sun and above freezing temps this time of year out here.......
