Default Exhaust question

Hi

I have a bone stock 2002 and if l put on an uncut used Ti exhaust do l have to cut my orig exhaust?

The reason that l'm asking is that l will be picking up another CR but a vert and would want to take the Ti with me and replace it with the orig.

Thanks

You can get the old exhaust out without cutting. It needs to be way up in the air with the sway bar lowered. If you have an automatic you may have to remove the right gas tank shield; but it will come out.

You have to do the same to put the Ti on so there is no point in cutting the original.

Safest and easiest way to remove the stock exhaust without cutting and install the uncut Ti exhaust is to put your car up on a lift.

The stock and Ti parts are about dimensionally the same, the Ti's just flow a little better and are lighter and have a different exhaust note.

If you can put on the Ti exhaust in one piece, you can get the stock exhaust off in one piece. You will need to get the car about 30-36" in the air to make the swap. What I did when I had a set of catbacks installed was take the car to a local muffler shop and they did the work on a lift - charged me $50 for the swap.

Tired of trying to save a dime and lose a quarter.

Smart decision, they have the equipment and will have it done in half the time you'd take.

You guys make me realize what a good woman I have,,she got me a Backyard Buddy about 8 years ago!! Makes cat back and LOTs of stuff a whole lot easier. It is kinda pricey,,But after several engine tranny jobs on my shark, many friend mod sessions and countless maintenance jobs and fluid changes,,,it's priceless!! Good deal that you found a GOOD shop that isn't going to shaft you. The job doesn't actually take long,,but one hour seems fair,,especially when it's someone you can trust to do it right!!
