Default Seat Question

Hey guys I have a few questions regarding the seats in my C5. I have a 97 with the sport seats, car has 59k on it and everything in them works, power, lumbar, ect.... but the seat back feels like its only attached on the side closer to the shifter.....If i have the seat leaning up and I lean back it leans pretty far back on one side and not at all on the other. Obviously something is wrong, the guy who I bought the car from was not small so Im pretty sure him getting in and out caused this. Has anyone ever had this before and maybe know if it could be something as simple as a stripped bolt or if its likely the seat frame? Also what would the costs of having this seat fixed be? And if I were to get it fixed how much would that, new foam for driver, and seat covers for both go for? Any ideas or input is welcomed..... I was going to spend my tax return on an exhaust but maybe Ill update the interior first....... Thanks again guys sorry for the long post haha.

The seat backs do not always latch on both sides. Move the seat all the way forward, recline it all the way back then adjust to the position you want it. That usually takes care of the issue.

I think I'm seeing a less extreme version of this also. There;s a post on here somewhere that suggest the recliner mechanism may be the issue - seems like cables from the recline leaver on the side can pop out of their guides. I had my seats out at the weekend, but didn't know to check this - will be re-checking next weekend.

It's also worth inspecting the hinge on the offending side (pull back the cover a little & you'll see it.. there's a small pin that should limit the movement of the seat back... that might not be functioning?

Not much help I know, but might send you poking about in the right place
