Default Vert wind deflector ??

Hi

I just noticed that mid america is now selling wind deflectors for the C5 vert.

Anybody buy it and what do you think about it? It's pricey!

My wife has one in her Audi vert and it works.

Thanks

I bought one from Chip @ CCA. Chip is a supporting vendor here on the forum and is TOP NOTCH in all aspects of selling and supporting his products. I have never seen anything other than 100% satisfaction with Chip from anyone on Corvette forum.
As for the Vette Net windscreen, the black framed model runs $380 and the color matched framed unit runs $430 from CCA. I'm happy with mine but don't expect miracles. It does cut DOWN the wind from behind but certainly does not eliminate it. They attach easily and look good too. Give Chip a chance at your business, you won't be sorry

Default Vette Net

Hey
I have an old style VetteNet.
Only use it a few times a year. Spring and fall.
It helps if on the interstate and you want the top down
with windows up.
Have to place brackets under boot, close boot, then put in net.
Can not put top up with it installed. Takes 5min to in/out. Fills trunk
across width.

My solution for the wind - top up.

When the top is down, shorter haircut and wraparound sunglasses.

Life is good.

My experience w/plexiglass style vettenet is, it will definitely cut down cockpit wind at freeway speeds. It'll allow you to have a normal conversation with your passenger and you won't need to crank up your speakers volume. Also, if your passenger is a female concerned about her hair, she needn't be with the vette net in place and the windows up (city or freeway).

Also, with windows up and vettenet in place you can drive around in 40-50 degree weather w/top down and heater on. The heat stays in the cockpit very nicely.

In city driving, it's kind of useless other than to keep hair in place.

I use mine during colder temperatures and when I know I'm going to take long freeway drives with a passenger otherwise I don't use it.

Tks Ron

VetteNet is actually releasing a new version (V3) in the next couple of days.

Version 1 was 10" tall and used a net
Version 2 was 7" tall and used a polycarbonate screen
Version 3 will be 7" tall and uses a poly screen as well. V3 will be adjustible (up and down) to eliminate the problem of the top bar blocking the rear view mirror for shorter people.

The prices will be as follows:
$399.99 for black
$449.99 for colors

They will start shipping next week and are already being snatched up at an alarming pace...

If you have any Q's, please feel free to call.

Peace
Chip

I had one on and ended up selling it (on the forum !!) I'm 6'3" and it just didn't help. In other posts those who were a little shorter seemed to see more of a benefit. Whatever you decide you can't go wrong with CCA. A top notch vendor for sure. Never had better service !!

Hi

I'm only 5 7" so l don't think it's a problem. I will know tomorrow if the vert is mine or not. I am swapping a coupe for a vert, same year but l noticed one thing last night when l decided to take a pic under my car.

It appeared brand new and l hope the vert that l'm going to look at is close.

If it's going to rain l don't take it out and l put it away for the winter covered in my garage. This of course is not my daily driver.

Thanks

Something else you can try, and it's not as offensive as top down windows up is to just raise both windows an inch or two. It does help a little.

My wife's Audi has a wind screen and it does work. The only thing left is to see this vert and make a deal if it's 80% of what l expect

I installed a wine cork in each tube to raise mine up a bit and it seems to work better.
