I'm in the market for a 2002 and am currently in research mode on it.
"Are all non-Z06 coupes equipped with a targa top?"
I can't seem to find a direct answer to this question, and have only had hints as to the answer.
I found something that indicated prior to 2000 there was a full coupe and then a targa top coupe, but nothing regarding if in fact all coupes are indeed Targa's.

Thanks in advance!
On the C5 there are 3 models to choose from.
Coupes-Removable top all .
Convertibles.
Z06/Fixed Roof coupe with out a removable top.
For the C5 (97-04) just plain old "coupe" refers to the targa top. There is a Fixed Roof Coupe (FRC) that may be confusing you which was NOT a removable top which was later replaced by the Z06 which is also a hard top.
To simplify things, all of the ones that are hatchbacks (a large bubble for a rear window) are removable targa top vettes and any of the ones with a traditional flat back section with a normal trunk are FRC, Z06, or Vert.
I know I'm going to kick myself when I hear the answer.. but why do you guys refer to the ragtops as "Vert"'s? When I first started reading posts last year I thought you meant green ones!

Fixed Roof Coupe ended in 99 I believe. All FRC after 99 (or maybe 00) were Z06.
And all non-FRC/Z06 that are not Convertibles, are Targas. Some will come with two tops (clear tinted and body colored) some with only one or the other (depends on original options and what the owner did with them). This could add to the confusion if you see them in person.

I have been on this forum for over three years and that confused be at first. I still refer to them as roadsters. I learned that many years ago with my first Vette, a '66 big block Roadster. If you go to any NCRS meet or watch any of the big auctions, that is the term you will hear when they described the car Roadster. I know technically it is not a true roadster, but that is how I learned and as the saying goes "That my story and I am sticking to it".

The hardtop or FRC was also available in 2000. The last year before the change over to the Z06. Some people like the 2000 and expect it to be a collectable down the road.
This is my 2003 LS6 coupe with removable top. It is in fact, a Z06.
While you may have the LS6 engine, it is not a Z06. Z06's are all FRC (unless you have convert conversion done) and yours appears to be a targa coupe. Unless you have done a hatchback conversion and removed the rear brake ducts that is.......
I see in your signature you have an 08 Z06....... I think the OP is referring to C5's
