I don't believe so!
You could call your company and ask anonymously and see what they say!
Mine certainly does not know
Thanks,Matt

Yes, they will still insure you. You will probably have to pay a little higher Premium, since the Replacement Cost of the Car has Changed. But I seriously doubt they will DROP you if you install a Supercharger. If they do, you don't want them as your insurance Company. State Farm will insure Any Modifications that is Permanently Attached to the Car. (Stereo, Rims, Engine...etc) But they will NOT Insure your Gym Bag or tools in the Trunk if they get stolen, since it is not Attached to the Car. That's why you have Home Owners Insurance. OHHH, Just never Mention Race Track, or Racing!!

I was insured by American Family when I had my 1992 Mustang GT and had a SN95 Supercharger installed. I just paid a little extra for coverage for the price of my Supercharger and a few other add-ons, my Insurance person clearly knew what a Supercharger would due for performance cause we discussed the HP gain.

Understand Insurance premiums
Most insurance , particulary specitalty companys like Hagerty and Grundy, Midwest Classics, ect work on an agreed value. So the premiums are deterimed by how much the agreed value, driver's condition. The insurance company will deterime risk. There maybe particular protocol ( such as limited milage , security , exposure, and vehicle violations) that will either wincrease premiums or reduce premiums. ( I have top store inside under security, no driving in winter, and limited milage that are agreed to help keep premiums very low.)
I have this type of coverage on most of my vehciles; '87 Grand national ( last year), 64 1/2 20year Anniversary Mustang GT 350, 1979 Trans Am convertible, '87 Choo choo El camino ( last year)'1978 25 Anniversary, ect , ect. I also have it on my diesel motorcoach.
My reasons are partiulary about concerns of devaluation on these greatly appreciating cars. The coverage is actuall slightly lower premiums that geco, progressive , Farmers about $100 a months for all eight (8) vehicles.
terms , again are agreed upon. Modified vehicles are not problem, I have several and if anything should happen within two years I receive the agreed on cash value . If you were to put conditions in the contract to have an option of acquiring the vehicle after the crash , then that's it. This is no brainer, as these folks apprecaite all vehicles and know that onwers take better care of their cars than themselves or theri spouses. ( sorry dear)

a) i'm sure they would insure you.
b) i'd be more concerened about if they would allow you to itemize such an item for replacement value. A typical supercharger setup costs at least $5000-8000 for parts and installation so if your car were totaled, it would be a rather significant chunk of change.
so you need to know is it worth the higher premiums to tell them you have a SC or should you risk a significant loss in the event of theft, fire or collision.

Interesting question, it raises another for me...
If you do have an aftermarket supercharger, and wreck your car, does the insurance company cover the cost of the supercharger? If so, do they go by the price you paid for it? I'm assuming if they did cover it they would want to see your receipt from the purchase...

What if you purchased the car w the mods installed and don't have a receipt? I would think they would go with price of a comparable current model less depreciation.

They won't cover the mods if you don't have receipts... I had HRE wheels, BP Vortex Rammer, and some other stuff. My insurance didn't cover anything because I bought the car with that stuff and didn't have a receipt.
