After reading several posts about C6Z splash guards I deecided to try my hand at it using the base-model C6 splash guards. They are roughly half the thickness of the Z version. While they don't do a lot to protect against splashing, they do protect the painted surface from road debris, stones or other hard objects that might be flung by the tires.
I mounted them using the traditional plastic pins, but later added the painted-stainless screws and finishing washers to ensure a perfect fit to the fender (the 3M tape just wasn't doing it for me) The rear guards required some trimming of the guard to fit properly. The fronts fit perfectly with no modification requried.
The results:
Rear:
Fronts:
Note: I paid $140 for all parts and shipping. The Z-model guards are considerably more expensive if you want to do all 4 wheels
A tip: When using stainless screws and you want them black, try dipping them into a bottle of Cold Gun Bluing solution. This will stain the metal to a flat black that will not rub off.
Available at any sporting goods store that sells firearms..........and there are plenty around your area. Many vendors make this stuff.
The bottom of my car needs some paint from all the chips it took before I bought it (and I'm sure some since). This will definitely be a mod I perform when the body is back up to snuff. Yours came out great, and I like the look too.
