Can anyone suggest a good company that sells extended warranty. I called stop repairs and was brow beat while asking what was covered. I was told if you don't buy it now, you can't buy it later. So I told the salesperson to keep it.
Any ideas from anyone that has extended warranties.
I have an 02, I purchased with 3000 miles in 03. Warranty thru gm at dealership was for 70,000. When it got to 65,000 miles I begun to worry and panic. After shopping around I found out most of those warranty companies are rip offs. When something breaks or goes out they will want detailed service recoreds showing you did the regular service maintence. For example was the oil changed every 5000 miles or 3000 miles. Was the clutch fluid changed or tranny fluid changed on scheduled. If you do these things one mile over scheduled regular maintence most warranty companies have a clause in their contracts voiding your warranty repair work. So you must be able to prove to them you followed and did everything with in the required guide lines. Fact in the matter if you think you can pay someone 2000-3000.00 to cover your vet another 25,000.00 miles that dont come out and do an inspection, trust me they will small clause you to death. Ask these companies to send you a copy of the warranty before you purchase it and most will not, instead they will tell you this is a today offer only. When my warranty ran out and car was also paid off I simply decided to put 100.00 away each month for emergency repairs and at 88,000 miles now and 2 years later i have nearly 2,400 set aside. Knock on wood I have been lucky but the next time I purchase a vet I will get the most extended warranty the 100,000 mile warranty and most possible years .

You just proved to yourself they are a rip and you have $2400 to show for it.
New Vettes as of now have a 100k powertrain warranty so keep putting $100 in the bank each month and you'll have another $5k saved by the time the factory warranty expires.
