You can mount the ballast where you want. It really does not matter where they are mounted as long as there is enough slack in the wires for the lights to go up and down.

The simple way to explain the connection is: Plug From Car to plug on HID kit (ballast/ignitor), then plug bulb in. (This is VERY simplified). Now, if you have some type of harness to go along with your kit, I'm not sure on that. (I was assuming you are just using a plug and play kit)

I put mine behind the headlight HID bulbs. It is easier to do if you take the headlight covers off and headlight buckets out. There are 2 torx type screws holding it in. Spay first with WD40 or a solvent type spray. You can do a search how to do this. You just have to make sure that the wires do not get pinched when the lights open/close. I used double sided 3M moulding tape available at auto parts stores. You could also use heavy duty velcro.

thanks

The top of the plastic housing should be threaded on to the plastic cap.....no need for the grommet. Don't touch the HID bulb glass with your bare hands/figures.
Wires are usually red + and black -

I suggest you mount your ballasts with the wiring connectors facing down......to help avoid water issues

JW does provide good support, email him

The plastic screw base should have a hole big enough to pass the bulb and base through........if not just cut through the plastic of just leave it hang.

As to the wires, mine were not from JW and were red and black with the correct plug attached.......but it will only light up one way, so give her a try and if no light, swap the wire positions.

Some helpful posts with pics, different HIDs, but same process
