My 98 that I just bought has a bran new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. This is not the run flat version which has the ZP designation. So now I've got great tires but they are not run flats. I do have AAA. If they were the run flats the ZP would be marked on the sidewall and it is not. Any problems besides no jack, no spare and no lug wrench?
Not a big problem at all. Non-runflats run just so much better. Have had non's for two years now. And I agree with the previous post. Carry a small 12V compressor, a plug kit, and perhaps a couple of cans of Flat Fix. You won't regret it.
Todays tires are very well built.. you rarely get a real Blow out (Tire off the rim....) what usually happens is you get a nail or screw in the tire and it slowly goes flat. Here is the beauty of tire pressure sensors. ( YOU HAVE NO SPARE TIRE !!! ) you dont want to have a flat on a lonely dark road with Bubba the tow truck driver just waiting to come a scoop you up.. you know Bubba the guy with the 1960 Ford Tow truck with the hook on the back... he the 300 lb red neck, with a greasy ball cap and hot wing sauce all over his ( what use to be white tee shirt... Of course he will make you sign a damage waiver so he is not responsible for the damage he does... ( he kind a smiles as you sign it... or you can refuse to sign it and sit there until that guy with the hook where his hand use to be... OK enough drama
You want working tire pressure sensors... they will.... tell you when your tire is going flat ( it will be @ 25 psi on the DIC... now that beautiful.. then you simply go and get the compressor from your trunk ( about 25 dollars at Walmart ) you then pump that tire up to 45 lbs.. and continue on you way to a save haven, or home.. you can drive on this slow leak until it reaches 25 psi.. then you get out and pump it up again.. This time period could be 20 minutes or an hour ( you do not remove the screw or nail from the tire. You never have to call Bubba, you never have to jack the car up...and you do not have to buy run flats... So have working Tire pressure sensors.. and a compressor. Ive had those tires on my car for 5 years, and they are great tires..
Good Luck

Thanks for the feed back. I do not feel so bad now. I just did the Z51 sway bar and Z06 shock upgrade. With the new Michelin's she rides and handles like a dream. I'll get the necessary suggested equipment. I don't want to meet up with BUBBA!!
