I have been lusting over a c5 since 97, I am getting to the point in my finances to really consider picking one up this year. I have avoided to go look at one because like many other sports cars that I liked I am afraid that when I go to sit down I will be let down. I went to a local car show and took a seat in a c6 zo6 and was saddened greatly not only was it a tight fit but i ended up make a spectacle of my self because as i sat down in the passenger seat a young boy ,about 8 years old I guess, sat in the drivers seat. People walking by saw me in there with my head cocked to one side my feet on top of one another and not being able to close the door with out contorting myself, and of course the little kid next to me made me look even bigger.
So to get to the point I am 6'3"-6'4" 280lbs, I am not so fat that I can't hike a mountain or kayak several miles (both hobbies of mine) but I would be a liar if I told you I was not overweight. Am I going to be let down when I go finally test drive a c5? I have had so many small cars in my time VW rabbits, GTIs, civic hatch backs, acura integras, even a miata. The Miata was too small for me but I think if I would have modified the seat I would have fit better.
I am sure this question has been asked before but it is hard to search it.
Thanks in advance.

Well i'm 6'1" at 220 and fit fine. One of the most comfortable cars i ever drove. I realize i'm not as "big" as you, but believe me, i've seen a lot "bigger" than you drivin a C5. Good luck.
One of my early cars was a 1980 Rabbit, great car. I am 6'3" 250 lbs and currently own the car to the left. Very good leg room and my size 12's don't have an issue with the clutch. Head room is fine in the vert, little tight to reach down left side to adjust seat, or grab for seat belt, but I usually put the seat belt on before I close the door. Rarely need to adjust the seats.
Easy to get in and out of with roof down. With roof up, little ackward but do-able.
I removed the the sun visor on the drivers side, which really opened up the sight line.
I believe the C5 has a couple of more inches of leg room than does the C6, although I stand to be corrected on that point.
6'4" 350....I only wish I was 250...you will fit...
DING,DING,DING We have a winner!! I'm 6'2",250 and can even manage a helmet for the strip,,,just have to lean the seat back a notch or two!! Have two points,,one,, C6's are a bit tighter in the cockpit,,,and two,, often the passenger side is tighter than the drivers seat. Sat in a buddy's C4 passenger seat,,seat all the way back,,head in the roof and knees in the dash. Drivers seat was snug but comfortable. I think C6's are similar in that respect,,,but C5's are roomier!!
6'4" 350....I only wish I was 250...you will fit...
That's a big boy.
6'-4" and 275... used to be 320.
NO SWEAT! YOU'LL FIT FINE.
If you have long legs, the clutch can be a little tricky. (You have to hit the gap between the door armrest and the steering wheel with your knee every time! That's why I bought the A4!!!)

The C5 has more interior room than any generation Corvette, including the C6. I'm only 6'1", 225 but the car is plenty roomy for me. Your only issue might be the side bolsters on the seat. As far as head and leg room, you should be fine.
I'm 6'5", 260lbs
I have no problem.
We are big guys in a world made for people who are smaller than us.
Of course you'll have to stoop a very little and contort a very little getting in and out (you should be used to that by now ) but once in it you'll be fine.
I have a 1965 with a telescopic column and I drive that ok. It's a tight fit but I forget about it as soon as the engine starts.
You will be fine. Friend of mine is 6'6" and use to have a C5 and recently purchased a C6. He said that he does not like driving the C6 as much due to the cockpit being a little smaller. Said he had no problem in the C5!
I am 6'3" and 285. I have long legs and still fit fine in my '04 Z06. I do have to have the seat all the way back and all the way down to get comfortable. I also drive a '09 Smart car and even fit that!!!
