I just spent a coupe of hours researching these kits. Do you just get a small compresser, or a kit with a bottle of slime? Are the kits that GM use any good? Slime claimes that the stuff (slime) will not harm the TPS. Leave the nail in and just pump it up?
I got a small compressor that plugs into the lighter and a plug kit.
That's what I decided to do also. Thanks for your input and I hope that I didn't rub you in the wrong way (jrose7004) with my remark on that other Thread.
Same here, plus a small scissors jack. I also carry "slime" for extreme emergency.
same here and I also carry a couple 1 ft pieces of 2x4 to roll the vehicle on. Helps get the car high enough to get the scissor jack under the vehicle.

Slime and most other tire sealants will NOT go through the small opening in the TPMSs to get into the tire. Note the instructions for slime have you remove the tire valve core before putting sealant in. The ZO6 which came with sealant had no TPMSs.
Trying to plug a 10 inch wide flat tire with only 3 inches of ground clearance is very difficult. You really need to remove the wheel to plug it, so you need a lug wrench and a jack that fits under 3 inches.
Usually, you get a flat with a nail or screw in the tire, if you leave it in and just pump up the air you can drive while monitoring the pressure via your TPMS. As I said USUALLY.
I run runflats on my daily driver. I have gotten several flats.

Hey Anthony.
It is a small kit in a plastic case that has a compressor that plugs in the lighter and a bottle of goop(slime). Not sure if it is the same as the new Camaro or not. The Z06 doen't come with run flats so GM included this kit with the car.
I've used the slime compressor many times on a slow leak, works pretty good.
Hope I never have to use the slime, it comes with a tool to remove the inner valve before you slime the tire. My car's a 99 with the original sensors so if I ruin one, not a big deal as I'll have to replace them soon anyway. The slime pkg. says it's safe for sensors but I don't know of anyone who's actually used it.
What you need to get is a Z06 compressor kit and a plug kit, Works great.
I Googled the Z06 kit. The CovetteGuys have it for $109.?? and WestCoast has it listed for over $500. Mighty proud of that compressor!! The Slime people have nice kits for about $29.??. It's very hard to plug the tire on the car (way tooo low). So maybe just a compressor. A can of FIX-A-Flat coast $25.00. OH well
